I have been sober for two months today. This is the longest i have been sober in over a decade. The last time i drank was on October 9th when i was originally so stoked and excited to play with Try the Pie and Mal Blum again at lava space. Social anxiety, depression, and paranoia had been getting the best of me over the last 6 months before that and that night i had a total fucking melt down, blacked out, left what little gear i brought behind, and walked home by myself after totally losing my shit while playing. So as a promise to myself to hopefully help my mental health I promised to not drink or play any shows for the rest of the year. So far I haven't. Today I played a showed by myself in my bedroom to no one. Kinda just wanted to show y'all kinda what that night was supposed to look like. No overdubs. Tons of mess ups. Songs about my dead rat and best friends.
